The Abbotsholme Arts Society is looking for people to provide administrative and secretarial support to help deliver its next season of world-class concerts. The society was the brainchild of former Abbotsholme director of music, Gordon Clark, and has hosted some of the world’s finest musicians in the fifty years since it was launched.
The society is looking to put support in place as soon as possible, as the present incumbents are no longer in a position to continue. The types of tasks required include:
The roles could be taken on by one or two people, or split across a number of volunteers, and are best suited to people who live within a reasonable distance of the school. The society offers an honorarium for this work and those providing assistance would be entitled to attend all concerts free of charge. More detailed job / task descriptions are available by emailing claire@tetley.org.
Darrell Farrant, former headmaster of Abbotsholme, said, “Without adequate support, it’s impossible for the Arts Society to function, so I’d welcome any offers of assistance.”
“I know that lots of OAs will remember going to concerts during their time at school and I hope that one or more of them will want to help maintain the wonderful work of the society,” he continued.
Feel free to email Darrell Farrant at darrellfarrant@btinternet.com if you would like to discuss any way in which you could help.
