It has been my great privilege to serve as Headmaster at Abbotsholme School since 2003. I have, however, decided that the time has come to retire and I will do so at the end of this academic year.
Throughout my time it has been a great pleasure to have served our school community and to share the values that underpin an Abbotsholme education. The School is very dear to my heart and I have seen a great deal of change; the site has certainly improved with, for example, the growth of the Prep School, the development of the Pre-Prep and Nursery and the Sixth Form cabins for independent living, the Snell building and, most recently, the synthetic pitch. The School now offers a roots to wings opportunity for the academic, social, physical and moral development of its students and I am immensely proud of everything that Abbotsholme stands for in offering a true education for life.
My fond memories of staff, students, parents and governors – past and present – will stay with me and I will undoubtedly miss my day to day contact with all of you.
The recent recruitment of new staff, and the dedication of those who have been with us for some time, means that I will be leaving the School at a time of positive change and development. I am confident that Abbotsholme is entering a wonderful phase where academic rigour, along with the developing of the whole person is truly brought into balance.
I would like to thank you all for the support that you have given me during my time as Head, and that I hope you will continue to give during my final academic year. The School and the Governing body will now begin the process of seeking the future head of Abbotsholme School.
